Chuck-E-Cheese

This afternoon Marcus and I went to our friend's birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese's. I know Marcus is a little young, but when I heard where the party was going to be held, I pretty much invited myself! I was so excited to go and play ski ball and shoot hoops; and let me just add that I hold the new Bellevue Washington Chuck-E-Cheese's basketball high score!! woo-hoo 46!
Anyway, Marcus had so much fun! He loved the rides, he ate some pizza (crust) and I had such a great time with him! I think I had more fun than he did!
Here he is driving the trolley with friend Max.

Here he is attacking friend Max. (I think he got so excited he started biting or kissing, we're not sure!)

Standing and Sun

Needless to say, we have been quite busy lately. Marcus has officially mastered the art of crawling which literally it seemed like over night; and has now moved on to bigger and better things, like pulling himself up and standing. Yikes!!!

BUT I am so excited because the other day I booked my ticket home to Hawaii! It has been a little while since all of my brothers and sisters were able to be together but this summer everyone will be together with spouses and children except for Cameron. Unfortunately Cameron will be the only one not joining us because of his new job, he can't get off work just yet; but Marcus and I will be gone for a whole month (we love you cam, he said we could stay that long!) and we are super excited. Beach and SUN here we come!!

At-ti-tude!

Attitude seems to be the word lately, but I am going to go with something a little less harsh and describe it as personality. So, Marcus has really been showing his personality lately. He gets so upset at things and extremely happy at others. He definitely tells us what he thinks!

We went shopping and we held different things in front of him. He got excited at some, and didn't even care at others! He has now discovered the chocolate chip cookie because he saw daddy eating one, so of course Cam gave him a little taste, and he went wild. He is gonna love his sweets! Here is a pic of the chocolate still on his face!
He is starting to grow up so fast. He has started to eat Cheerios and Kix for snacks now, and is doing pretty good (top teeth are coming in! Nightmare!!). And a couple of days ago we really caught him crawling. Usually he scoots but now we are worried!! Here we go!

The poor unsuspecting Kix box!

Spring Snow Part 2

Everyone knows the saying, "April showers bring May flowers" unfortunately, that is not the case! This weekend it has been dumping snow all over Washington. We saw a little snow at our house late on Friday night, but nothing sticky. Last night Cameron and I went out to a friends home, and on our way home (around 1 am) there was not a drop of rain or snow or anything. In fact it was 36 degrees so we thought it wasn't going to get cold enough to snow. Sometimes I swear there is a conspiracy between the news and Costco. The news says one thing, and people go crazy and rush to Costco!
Well, this morning when I went into Marcus' room to get him, I opened the blinds and was completely shocked. To my complete dismay, a WHITE blanket of snow covered everything. So, this morning Marcus and I played in the snow, and he even ate some! It was yummy! (hey it is the closest thing to shave ice around here!)
This place just keeps getting weirder and weirder!
The front yard and street. Marcus eating snow and loving it!

Allergy Update

Most of you know that Cameron has bad food allergies and asthma; and because of it I was very good about what I ate throughout my pregnancy and while I have been nursing. Well, I finally had enough (selfish I know!) and decided that it has almost been 18 months since I had peanut butter, recess peanut butter cups, snickers, and a lot of egg and soy products, so I decided to get Marcus tested.
So, this week I took Marcus to see the allergy and asthma specialist, and after poking his back with 6 different little shots, we discovered that he is completely healthy and not allergic to peanuts, soy, cows milk, eggs, wheat, or egg whites. He did so good, he didn't even cry but barely flinched.
Hello PB&J!

P.S. It is SNOWING here tonight! what the heck!

Marcus' New Blanket

Pomai also made Marcus a blanket and some burp rags. It is so cute because if you look very carefully, you can see that his name is embroidered all the way around the edges. (Marcus Kanoheakameakahikupa`a) Thanks aunty poopy!

Poop-a-lee-doo-pa-lee-doo

Sorry that it has been a few days, but I have good reason.

My best friend, Pomai and her son Casien flew in to Washington just for one night on her way home to Hawaii. We have known each other since, I don't know the 3rd grade or so, so we are practically sisters. Well, we stayed best friends through high school and early college days, and then I got married and so did she, and she moved away to Georgia. It is rare that we get to see each other, but when we do, it is like no time has past. When Cam and I found out we were pregnant, I immediately called her, only to find out that she too was pregnant. Her son Caisen is 5 months old, just a few months younger than Marcus and they are too cute. We had a blast while they were here, and we are looking forward to having them come back (on her way home to Georgia she will stay and visit here for about a week).

Here are some pics of the kids! They really played hard, and then decided they needed a bath.
Here is Marcus attacking Casien, nah he is just trying to give him lovies.

Baby's First Handprint

Awhile ago Cameron and I bought the 'Baby's First Handprint' mold thing with good intentions of capturing Marcus' cute little print. However, days of putting it off or forgetting went by and then weeks and eventually months. Marcus is now 7 months and I was determined to get that hand print! Granted, we understood that this was close to impossible, for we knew that the little guy would not let us keep his hand still for 5 whole seconds! But, sick of seeing the mold sit on the table, I told Cam that today was the day! Well, while trying to keep him asleep through the process, a completely ruined t-shirt (mine!) and a screaming baby...this is what we got!

It will have to do!

Fun in the Sun

So first thing's first: I fit into another pair of pre-preggo pants yesterday!! woo hoo!

Ok! I'm ready now, had to get that out of my system. So, after an excruciating long winter we had our first gorgeous weekend! (don't get too excited the next week is supposed to rain everyday). Friday and Saturday, and so far today were absolutely wonderful. Friday when Cameron came home from work we went with Tom and Heather and the boys to the park. Cam and Tom played basketball and the rest of us soaked in the sun! Yesterday during the morning and early noon it was sunny and yet cool, upper 50's, so Cam, Tom, Preston, Branden and I went to Twin Rivers Golf Course, (my father-in-law recently took a part-time job there so he could get free golf. go figure, he retired less than a month ago.) to hit a couple of buckets of balls. I was surprised that I could still hit the ball, about 125 yards! My dad would be so proud of me right now!
I couldn't resist this picture: Tom & his white legs!

Later that afternoon, Cam, Marcus and I met Jason, Sissel and the cousins at the Woodland zoo in Seattle. What a great day to go...except everyone else thought that too! It took hours to get there! Traffic, parking, and then we had to wait in line to get into the zoo. I found the hidden line, so we didn't have to wait that long! ;o) (No! I didn't cut...I promise!) It made it to 80 degrees and it felt so nice! By the end of the day we all had red-ish faces and Marcus even got to tan his legs!

Sissel let us borrow her "jumper" for Marcus to use. You thought he liked his walker...He LOVES the jumper!! Here is a glimpse of what will soon be my Best Friend!! See for yourself!

If the Salt have lost His Savour

Last week Thursday Jonathan Durrett, (my dad) who is in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission Presidency was asked, him and my mom to speak at devotional. He was so excited to use the tele-prompters to see how they worked, I think it made him feel important! He spoke about the salt of the earth and even used an old Hawaiian legend. We always tease my mom that one day dad will get a higher calling and she will have to move to Utah (she hates Utah, no offense) So mom, this is just the beginning!! hehehe ;o)

Find his talk  HERE!

Catch Up

First of all, Congrats to Cam and his first and probably last blog; but who knows.

I didn't get to blog yesterday because our internet was out, and let me just tell you, I didn't know what to do with myself. Yesterday mysteriously our cable, phones, and internet all went out. (Comcast) I was seriously dying! Apparently only our house had a "bad connection" but we managed to have fun anyways. We played gin rummy, we were laughing and teasing each other. Sometimes you forget how much fun you can have without the TV on or the internet!

Tuesday was my outside league's first volleyball game of the spring season. It was so much fun, we won of course! We are seeking revenge this season after a devastating loss last season. My friend AJ played with me at BYUH and is also on my team, so we are gonna rock!

I wanted to post this pic to show you all that I used to be able to jump high and rock it. Maybe one of these days I can do it again!! ;o) The one on the left is me.

Cam's 1st Blog

So Kamaile is always on this stinkin blog thing and she tells me that all the husbands blog as well.  I am still waiting to hear from another husband that does.  I guess this makes me the 1st.  Yeah for me.  Anyways, just to fill people in on the real scoops, cause Kamaile just writes whateva she like.  So we're up in Washington and you all know, I dragged Kamaile up here and now she is the one who likes it up here.  I hate this freakin place, nothing but Doom & Gloom all the time.  Amazing how more people don't jump out of windows in tall buildings up here. ;)

I just started a new job, its pretty cool so far.  Talk about using your brain though, my new title is Project Engineer at Westlake Concrete Construction.  The people I work with are way cool and the work is really interesting, for those of you that know me, I've never said that about work before.  I start early but I get home by 4pm every day so its worth getting up early.  Although every day I wake up is like a shock to my body.  You can never get used to waking up early I don't care what anyone says.

Now for the sappy crap.  I married the woman of my dreams, blah blah blah.  Oh and I have the coolest little boy in the Universe.  Anyone who like disagree, I false crack yo FACE!!!  But honestly I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife like Kamaile, she really supports me in all I do.  Sometimes I know she's worried about where we'll end up but things will work out.  If you don't know by now then I'll tell you, she's the worry wart, need a plan kind of girl.  Well at least for our future, but in other aspects she is pretty spontaneous and really fun.

So in a nutshell, life is good.  It can always be better, but why worry about what you don't have instead of cherishing what you got.

K, SHOOTZ

Say Cheese!

First thing's first, for my supporters, Thank You! I think that Marcus is definitely trying to establish a sleep cycle, but I decided that it is absurd to expect him to sleep 13 hours straight! So he went to sleep at 7pm, woke up once at 3am and then at 7:30am! I really can't complain.

Today we went to Picture People in South Center Mall to take Marcus' 6 month pictures, that happened to be a "little" late (he will be 7 mo. on Thursday). I was very nervous, but it was very reasonable, and the pictures turned out GREAT!! He was such a good boy. You view your pics and get them within 15 mins. They print them there!! There is no sitting fee and you can buy sheets (8x10, 2 5x7, 8 wallets) for only $18 and there is no obligation to purchase anything!

I know this is totally illegal, but I had to! I took pictures of the pictures, they don't look as good as the originals, but you get the point!
